What I Think
I openly admit that I did not vote in the election. Do I have any right, therefore, to criticize those who were put into power over me? Not really, most people would say. Well, I am not going to criticize the elected officials. I, rather, want to criticize all these people who have gone off the deep end. Is Obama a Democrat? Yes he is. Will he necessarily get his ways on everything he promised in his campaign? Certainly not! We live in an age of politics where there are more promises lost than kept. Can he become our dictator? Of course not! Will Obama allow us to be attacked by terrorists? I sure hope not, but is it really just on him to protect us from terrorists? September 11 happened. I am pretty sure that George Bush didn't just allow terrorists into our country knowing they were terrorists. The truth has to be that we live in a society that overlooks a lot of things that it doesn't have to. There are Christians that voted for Barack Obama. (I do not want to argue with people about whether they are true Christians.) Just as I believe that church is a best fit mentality people elect a present on a best fit mentality, saying that whichever one agrees with more of my values is who I will elect. It just utterly shocks me all the truly negative comments that have come out of this election. Deal with things when they come people, not fearing what can be. As I was reminded of reading a blog today there has not been a president that was not biased one way or the other. I think it is just the community that I am a part of that sees a huge deal here. In a way I wish I would have been born a few years earlier so I could have gone through the same period of my life with a different president and see how people would have reacted. Barack is going to be our president and we have to respect that.
